About Me

Hey, I'm Matteo — an illustrator based in Bali, fascinated by the ocean and everything that lives beneath its surface.

Sea Creatures' Life is born from a vision of a post-warming world — a planet where the waters have risen, submerging the land we once knew. In this new reality, fishes and sea creatures have become the undisputed kings of the Earth. The ocean is their kingdom, and every coral reef, every deep trench, every sun-lit shallow is a chapter in their story.

I love imagining what that world looks like: vibrant, wild, mysterious, and full of life. My illustrations explore these underwater worlds — the creatures that inhabit them, the colours that define them, and the quiet beauty of a planet that has returned to the sea.

Living in Bali, surrounded by some of the richest marine biodiversity on Earth, is a constant source of inspiration. The ocean here is alive in a way that feeds my imagination every single day.
